I became a lover of growing at a young age, as my grandparents had a little farm where they shared their knowledge. I appreciate that they planted the seed in me as I often have referred to their knowledge through out my life. Growing up and being a lover of mother earth, I wanted to have a better understanding of how to care for her, so I enrolled and completed a course in Permaculture Design and Permaculture Teachers Training course in 2009. I was hired to design a private two-acre farm which later became Lettuce Grow Farms and Educational Center located in El Prado, New Mexico in 2010. We had bees, goats, and chickens, we grew vegetables, herbs and flowers and sold our products at local farmers markets and stores. The local schools would often visit the farm. We held workshops on various topics. Struggling as a grower with poor soil structure I enrolled to study soil biology at the Soil Food Web School in 2020 and I have completed and I am certified in the foundation course, the lab technician course and the consultant training program.
You will often find Darren creating along side me. He is the co founder of Lettuce Grow Farms. Such an awesome partner in life. His degree in landscape horticulture from Colorado State University, adds great knowledge to our business.
